Product Detail

Photo etched badges are made on brass base metal by craft of etching or cauterizing. The appreciate designs are transferred to films that are used to distinguish the areas between that is to be exposed to ultraviolet radiation and that is to be maintained unexposed. The exposed areas will be etched recessed in a certain acid while the unexposed areas remain impact in acid.

Photo etching or cauterizing is employed to achieve refine design that is unable to be done by die striking. Besides, photo etching is able to achieve intricate design configurations. Most important of all, when there are different design elements to be produced and the quantity of each design is limited, photo etching can help save mould cost by convergence of different designs in a group of pattern. There is no need to set up one mould for each design as die struck quality requires.
