Hydrocarbon resin is a kind of thermal resin produced by C5 fraction,by-products of petroleum of petroleum cracking.It is a transparent flake and granular solid with the color of the light yellow to yellow.It has the properties of good solubility,mutual solubility ,water resistance ,insulation and very good chemical stability over acid and alkali,and good adhesive strength and lower heat conduction as well.
Generally,the hydrocarbon resins are not used indepedently,but have to be used together with other kinds of resins as promoters,adjusting agents and modifiers.
The C5 hydrocarbon resin is widely used in the coating, printing ink, paint, rubber, adhesive, waterproof material and hot melt road symbols.
